About Loch Fyne Restaurants
Loch Fyne Seafood & Grill is a restaurant chain that specialises in fresh, sustainably-sourced seafood. It has 37 restaurants across the UK, mainly in town centres. Many of them are located in historic listed buildings, such as converted breweries, granaries and fish markets. The distinctive Loch Fyne logo is a dark blue rectangle with three stylised golden fish, two facing up and one down, together with the words Loch Fyne Seafood & Grill in a narrow, white font.
The name Loch Fyne is taken from the Scottish loch where the brand's founders, Johnny Noble and Andy Lane, grew oysters and sold them to UK restaurants. The success of this venture led to the pair opening their own oyster restaurant in 1988. Johnny Noble was the owner of a large Scottish estate and Andy Lane was a biologist and fish farmer. Today, oysters from the loch are still sold in Loch Fyne restaurants, as well as mussels and langoustines, however, the chain of restaurants was purchased by Greene King in 1990.
From the beginning, Loch Fyne has aimed to serve high quality seafood which is sustainable. It does not offer fish from endangered species, such as skate and swordfish, and works together with several conservation agencies and charities such as the Marine Conservation Society. Loch Fyne serves both wild and farmed seafood but makes sure that the farms they buy from use sustainable methods and have high welfare and quality standards.
Loch Fyne Restaurants serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a choice of lunchtime and evening set menus as well as a la carte options. They also offer a children's menu and a party menu together with regular seasonable promotions for Mother's Day, Valentine's Day and Christmas. New menu items are introduced to customers on special Preview Nights, which serve set three-course meals of new dishes.
